THULAMELA HANDS OVER MODERN HOUSE TO DESTITUTE WOMAN HEADED FAMILY

To commemorate Women’s Month, Thulamela Local Municipality Mayor Honourable Cllr  Athingozwidivha Sarah Rambuda, spearheaded the handover of a newly built and fully furnished four roomed house to a poverty stricken woman, Livhuwani Negondeni, at Vhurivhuri Village, outside Thohoyandou, on Tuesday, 08 August 2023.

Negondeni used to stay in two small dilapidated mud houses for many years, enduring poverty, pain and suffering with her two children. 

Remarking after receiving the keys to the freshly painted house, Negondeni said she appreciated everything that Thulamela Municipality and various donors accomplished to ensure that she celebrated Women’s Day holiday on Wednesday, 09 Aguast, with a smile on her face.

With unwavering support including donations of building materials, food parcels and furniture from various local businesses including Sabina Pharmacy, Monate Chicken & Steak and Makopo Holdings,  the modern house was built to withstand various weather conditions such as storms rain and wind.

Flanked by various dignitaries, the Mayor Cllr Rambuda was joined by Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli during the handover ceremony which was attended by local well-wishers, traditional leaders and municipal councillors.
